Survival guide design

Game of Thrones

First, a little context on my Secret Projects: these are from long ago, some going back as far as university. They’re ugly, bizarre, experimental – and didn’t make the cut for my main portfolio. Instead of deleting them, I relegated them to the secret archives of my website.

In the buildup to season 5, NowTV launched a social media campaign which encouraged hardcore fans to indulge in a 24-hour binge of back-to-back Game of Thrones episodes and series-themed snacks (“SeriesSunday” or “Thrones Marathon”). I was tasked with creating a set of Marathon survival guides, published via social media in the weekends running up to the new season in the form of downloadable PDFs.
